A very busy month for the AKS WI. Our June meeting was somewhat different as we were graced by the presence of the Honourable Mrs. Victor Bruce who delighted us with her motoring and racing etiquette during the 1920’s. One can say a spiffing time was had by all.

Friday evening was the annual county WI quiz at which the AKS WI had a substantial contingent; only time will tell if numbers relate to brain power! Results to yet be announced.

Saturday afternoon found the AKS ladies and guests gathered together at the Robin Hood theatre to celebrate the WI’s 60th anniversary. The weather was glorious and so was our time together. For the energetic ones a young dance student taught us the Jive, we had such a giggle and I suspect so did she!

A quiz, celebration cake, canapés, strawberries and plenty of bubbles to drink rounded off the event wonderfully.

Thank you to all who took part behind the scenes, especially our president and Carol for making such a delicious cake.
