ALICE AND HEATHER DO BATTLE

Last night's Northern Area Final of the County Singles, played at Hook, saw Oakley guaranteed a place in the County quarter finals with Alice Lovett and Heather Statham, who have qualified playing together in the County Pairs, pitted against each other. Alice settled the quickest, establishing an early 8-1 lead, before, on winning an end, Heather picked up a score of 4, to close the gap to just 2 shots. An immediate response from Alice saw her also score a 4 but, winning three successive ends, Heather pulled back to be just 12-10 down. The remainder of the match, however, belonged to Alice who sealed her victory on the 19th end, winning 21-12. Congratulations to both players on reaching the Area Final and good luck to Alice when she plays at Banister Park on 31st July.
