Oakley's congratulations go to Alice Lovett, who, this evening, representing Loddon Vale, came through a tense encounter, against fellow junior Rebecca Cresswell of the Dolphin IBC, to qualify for the final stages of the National Championships. It was always going to be a difficult game and, after a steady start, Alice found herself, after 6 ends, 6-3 down with the deficit increaing, by 12 ends, to 11-6.. A rally took Alice level at 15 ends but, by 18 ends, she trailed again 15-12. It was, however, Alice that coped best with the pressure at the end and, after 25 ends, she emerged triumphant 21-17. Well done.

Alice will now, for the second time in 2023, compete at the National Finals. She will play at Nottingham on 27th March against Wendy King of Swale, three times a National Champion and twice a silver medallist at World Bowls. Everyone at Oakley BC will be rooting for Alice and wish her the best of luck.
