We were delighted to welcome, for the first time ever, a touring team from America - the Palo Alto Bowling Club from California. They brought with them a mixed team of 12 bowlers to play against us and what glorious weather we had to greet them. A match of 4 triples was played with a half time break for a traditional Devon cream tea and was keenly fought, albeit in a friendly manner, throughout. The touring Americans won the match overall by 73 shots to 63 and then stayed to have a drink or two in the bar and swap stories with club members.

Perhaps there will be an invitation to a return fixture!
