ANNIVERSARY DAY
Lee-on-the-Solent Bowling Club
Well, the sun shone on us on our 37th Anniversary celebrations on Sunday 8 May. It was lovely to see so many of our older members who had come along and were entertained with the ladies versus gentlemen match which ended with the men beating the ladies by 23 shots overall.
After the match, David Wallace, our President, took great pleasure in telling us that Barbara Merry had donated a defibrillator to the Club. He then presented Barbara with a Life Membership Certificate in gratitude for her most generous gift.
And then it was time for the sandwiches and cakes (many of which had been donated by members) put together by Liz’s team of volunteers who had worked in the kitchen throughout the afternoon.
What a lovely day!
