Would you like to join Fletching Parish Council as a councillor?

Being a councillor is a rewarding and interesting experience - you will be working with the other councillors to serve your community and helping to make decisions on the behalf of the parish. You will be expected to attend full Parish Council meetings which are held monthly, usually on the first Monday of the month at 7.30pm.

This vacancy is to be filled by co-option which means you will be required to submit an application form and your application will be voted on by the current Members of Fletching Parish Council. Applications should be submitted to the Clerk by 5pm on Monday 2nd March and applicants should be available to attend the Parish Council Meeting of Tuesday 3rd March. The Council will discuss applications with eligible candidates and vote to co-opt a new councillor.

VACANCY FOR A PARISH COUNCILLOR

Fletching Parish Council invites applications to fill a casual vacancy in the Parish of Fletching by co-option to the Council.

To be eligible you must be 18 years of age or over; a qualifying Commonwealth citizen, a citizen of the Republic of Ireland or a citizen of another Member State of the European Community; and qualify under one of the following:

a) be on the electoral register for the Parish

b) have owned or rented land in the Parish for 12 months or more

c) have worked in the Parish for 12 months or more

d) have lived in the Parish or within 3 miles of the Parish boundary for 12 months or more

Applications in writing from persons wishing to serve as a councillor need to be submitted to the Clerk of the council within 18 days of the date of this notice (excluding Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays). The closing date for applications is Monday 2nd March 2020.
