Arriving this morning at Atherley as a reserve for the Middleton Cup Trial Match against Jersey, Ashley Nethercliffe was fully expecting to be spending the morning doing exam revision but instead found himself brought into the team as one of three changes forced upon team manager Paul May by non availability of players. Ashley led in a rink with Adam White, Colin Thresher and skip Leo May and although initially nervous he acquitted himself well as the rink won 17-14 in an overall 50 shot victory for Hampshire.
