The following piece is from the Warwickshire Women's Bowling Association website, remembering our club President Barbara Harsant.

The Warwickshire County Officers and players were greatly saddened at the loss of Barbara Harsant on Monday 10 August. Her personality and cheeky smile made her popular with everyone and she will be sorely missed. County President in 1999 and again in 2012 whilst a member of Solihull Municipal Bowling Club, Barbara was always ready to encourage and support with the County win against Devon in the National Finals of the Johns Trophy undoubtedly being one of the highlights of her bowling career. Fellow team member, Di Medhurst, reminisces:

"I had the pleasure of playing on the same rink as Barbara in the National Finals of the Johns Trophy at Leamington in August 2002 - almost 18 years from today's date. As she played number 2 and I played lead we were there together in the thick of it, encouraging and supporting one another, trying to build a good head for our back end players. I remember our supporters sitting on the stands at the end of our rink armed with klaxons and wearing WWBA hats!! However the most prominent memory was that each time Barbara delivered a wood they burst into song with Ba-Ba- Ba- Bar-Barbara Ann, to the tune of the Beach Boys single - Barbara Ann - what a memory!!"

Just one of many memories we all have of a fun loving member of our team.
