Ready, set ... don't mow this May! 🌼

Mowing your grass regularly can stop wildflowers like dandelions, clover, and ground ivy from blooming. This is a blow for bumblebees, who need these precious sources of pollen and nectar. 😢

Our Rethink Nature partner Plantlife have launched their annual #NoMowMay campaign and it's so easy to take part!

Just put your lawnmower away this May and see which wildflowers pop up among the longer grass. You may be amazed at what your garden has to offer bumblebees! 🌼

Don't want to leave your whole lawn? Even leaving a small patch will make a huge difference, or you can try mowing 'paths' if you're lucky enough to have a big space!

What can you plant for bumblebees this month?

Bumblebees need lots of pollen and nectar-rich flowers to feed on. This month you can boost your flower power by planting...

🍓 Strawberry
💜 Honeywort seeds
🍅 Tomato
💜 Or English lavender!

Got a small growing space? All these plants can be grown in pots and containers. 😎

World Bee Day is 20 May and we need your support!

Bumblebees are in trouble and need our help. Two UK species have become extinct. Several more are dramatically declining because of habitat loss. 💔

The Bumblebee Conservation Trust is working hard to save the UK's bumblebees through projects like Bee the Change. But as a charity which relies on donations, we can't do it without the support of people like you. 🙏

If you're enjoying using our free resources, please consider giving back for World Bee Day on 20 May! Here's some simple things you can do...
