The 2018 Best Kept Village Competition sponsored by Wilkinsons is well under way with the judging taking place in June and July.

The Competition reflects the pride that Nottinghamshire people take in their villages and in making them a more attractive place to live with the judges looking for evidence of general community involvement such as up-to-date notices of local events, footpath maps and signs of care for the village.

There are four categories for different sizes of village with this year’s category winners receiving a cheque for £125, a framed certificate and an iron and oak sign kept for a year (unless they win again the next year!).

Weston Parish Council are considering an entry for next year’s competition and are asking any resident who would be interested in joining a working group to co-ordinate the entry to please contact any Councillor or the Clerk with their details
