Contraflow diversion details have been confirmed as both of the Dartford Tunnels will close for a time this coming weekend.

On the night of Saturday, September 12, both northbound tunnels at the Dartford Crossing will be closed overnight from 8pm to 5am.

The closure will be necessary to allow emergency services to complete tunnel emergency exercises through the night. Additionally, the A282 northbound Junction 1a and Junction 1b entry slips will be shut while the tunnel closures are in place.

A contraflow will therefore be running over the QEII Bridge through the night to cater to northbound (anticlockwise) A282/M25 journeys.

Clockwise access over the QEII Bridge will remain, however lane closures will be in operation to accommodate the contraflow, meaning journeys may take longer than usual.
