Breckland - video call launch
15/03/21: Breckland Council launches video call appointments
People living in Breckland can now contact the district council via video call, as the council expands its customer services offering.
Breckland Council has launched the video call appointments system to make it as easy as possible for people to get in touch with the council, building on existing methods of contact including phone calls, email, web chat and online forms.
It comes off the back of a rise in popularity in video calls during the pandemic and means residents will be able to speak virtually face to face with one of the council's Customer Services officers. Appointments will take place from the comfort of a resident's home via the video conferencing service, Microsoft Teams. Calls require access to a smartphone, laptop or a tablet and a stable internet connection.
Executive Member for Customer Engagement, Cllr Ian Sherwood, commented on the new appointments: "We're continuing to adapt our services to meet the changing needs of our residents and to embrace modern technologies. People will still be able to find information, report issues, and make payments through our website, but we hope offering these virtual face to face sessions will particularly help us support people with more complex cases."
Breckland's team are on hand between 9am-5pm every weekday to answer questions and assist with a number of topics including Council Tax, housing support and general enquiries. Video calls must be booked in advance. If you would like to book a video call appointment, visit the online booking form.
