Buckinghamshire Council Community Boards
Community Boards - Creating Community Conversations, Taking Local Action
A key aim of the new Buckinghamshire Council is to strengthen relationships with our communities through the creation of 16 Community Boards to connect with local communities, make space for community conversations, respond to local needs and tackle issues together.
Building on how people quickly came together for coronavirus, these boards are now becoming a reality, with chairman and key coordinators appointed and introduction meetings taking place this month. These meetings are the start of the conversation taking a look at the key issues in the local area, how the boards will work and who to involve across the community. This new way of working will bring the council, groups, organisations and people together to explore issues and take action through local working groups, backed by a £3.9m budget to fund local initiatives and creative solutions. This will be where the real change take place.
We’re really excited at the enthusiasm we have seen so far and over the next few weeks we will be talking to local groups, organisations, partners and residents about what matters to them most ahead of the official launch in September.
Keep up to date with meeting dates and more information to come on the council website or email localities@buckinghamshire.gov.uk to get involved with your local Community Board.
