No website lasts for ever. Burghwallis has just had an upgrade to adopt the latest twists and turns required to improve the ease of use and adopt a subtle change of address.

As an early adopter the previous site had the address www.burghwallis.org.uk but we now need to follow the later general trend to reflect the central theme of parish councils in the UK. The new address is www.Burghwallisparishcouncil.gov.uk if you wonder how you got here today the old site is linked to the new one and you are automatically redirected.

Whilst the dynamic news for the village can be found more immediately on social media, this site has become the reference point for all parish council proceedings, procedures and records, along with a stack of historical data.

If you are really clever you will note the website has two slightly different layouts. If you login on a desktop the headings spread across the top. This gets a bit squished on a phone or tablet so the headings then are listed on the right hand side. This you already know - because you are reading this article!

It case you are interested, and why not, the site is now managed by a new team using their latest spanners. But as we sneak a look back over each shoulder - no one is perfect - if you do spot a fault, omission or owt weird let us know and we’ll get it sorted tout de suite if not sooner. (It’s French I looked it up, spellf check failed miserably)

Similarly if there is missing element you think we should include drop us a line clerk@burghwallisparishcouncil.gov.uk
