It has been a busy few days for Alice Lovett. On Saturday, along with her dad, Gary, she took on Victory's Derek Healy and Kath Patrick in the Final of the Hampshire Indoor Mixed Pairs. After 10 ends Gary and Alice had a 4 shot lead which, as the game progressed, they steadily increased to run out 18-9 winners and lift the trophy for the second time. They were Champions in 2018.

Then on Monday, Alice found herself in Nottingham competing in the Finals of the English Indoor Ladies' Singles. A Last 16 match against Wendy King was always going to be a big ask. Three times a National Champion and twice a World Bowls silver medallist the experienced Wendy had a few days earlier, at the same venue, finished runner up in the National Two Bowl Singles and Wendy was soon in top gear running out winner by 21-13. Alice should, however, be proud of reaching the Indoor Nationals in two events in 2023 and she still has the County Indoor Singles Final to play, before we welcome her back onto the outdoor green at Oakley.
