Casual Councillor Vacancy
Parish councillors are unpaid and volunteer their time to the community in which they live or work to try to make a change for the better and act as a representative for the community.
Just now there is a vacancy on Cannock Wood’s parish council following the resignation of Avril Green. The period of office will initially run up to the parish council elections in May 2027 and there is usually one meeting a month. Cannock Wood Parish Council has always acted without bias to political parties but aims to benefit the village and work on behalf of residents on the issues that matter to the community. Expressions of interest are warmly welcomed and it is your chance to bring fresh ideas and energy, shape local decisions, and ensure everyone's voice is heard.
If you are aged 18 or more and live or work in or around Cannock Wood and Gentleshaw, you are very probably eligible – go on, give it a whirl!
