It is with great sadness that i am informing you of the passing of my Grandad Cecil Exton, who was an honorary life member of Malmesbury Bowls Club. My gramp passed away on Saturday evening surrounded by his family at Miranda House in Wootton Bassett.

His funeral will be held on Saturday 16th December at 11.30am, at Malmesbury Abbey, Malmesbury, followed by a reception at Malmesbury Bowls Club.

Family flowers only, however donations to Dementia UK, would be welcomed if people wish to.

As well as being an honorary life member at Malmesbury Bowls Club, my gramp was the only player still alive in Wiltshire to have won the Middleton Cup, Liberty Trophy and National club two fours titles, in which he played an integral part in all three as skip.

He earned 33 Middleton Cup appearances, won the county champion of champions (runner-up twice) and was a runner-up in the national SAGA over 55's pairs in 1988. He was also an extremely proud member of the Barbarians Bowls Association.
