Chart Sutton Local Neighbourhood Plan

ACTION NEEDED!

The Chart Sutton Neighbourhood Plan was formally launched on 21 April, with the consultation period expiring on 6 June. All statutory consultees and landowners have been contacted and residents are able to view the Plan on the Parish Website, which also has a survey that can be used to submit comments. In addition, printed copies are available from the Village Shop (on a ‘library’/sign-for basis) along with a paper copy of the questionnaire.

At the time of writing, responses are trickling in from Statutory consultees (eg Environment Agency and Historic England) which are generally supportive but, although the Website is recording a very high level of hits, the feedback from residents has been at a disappointingly low level. As such, the decision has been taken to extend the consultation deadline by one week (to Friday 12 June) so that the Village News can be used to remind villagers of the need to participate in the consultation. If they have not already done so, all residents are encouraged to take action and submit their comments. Approval of the Plan will require evidence of community engagement and, to date, we can cite the many public meetings and surveys that have taken place. We need the Local Neighbourhood Plan to be able to decide our own future regarding housing location rather than be vulnerable to speculative developers (albeit MBC’s lack of a 5-year housing supply is not in our favour). Please comment!

Many thanks
