Councillors Marilyn Peters and Lesley Rock recently visited ‘We Are Beams’ to present the Charity with a Parish Council cheque for £250 as a donation toward the cost of running the ‘Beamers Holiday Clubs’ which are holiday playschemes for disabled children and young people aged between 4-19. Those attending usually have one or multiple learning difficulties, complex health needs such as Downs Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy or another life threatening disease, physical or sensory impairment, challenging behaviour as a result of Autism or severe ADHD.

Councillor Mrs Peters said ‘It was a pleasure to visit ‘We Are beams’ and see the fantastic service the Charity provides and which the children and young people clearly enjoy’. These sentiments were echoed by Councillor Mrs Rock who also praised the Charity’s dedicated staff and volunteers.

Marie Moorey the Charity’s Fundraising Executive and who is pictured with the Councillors said ‘It was lovely to meet the Councillors and show them around our facility. It is hard for anyone to envisage what ‘We Are Beams’ does until they have seen it for themselves.
