CHRISTIAN AID
Bishop Monkton’s two churches have thanked people for their generosity with the recent Christian Aid envelope collection which raised £434.
CHRISTIAN AID WEEK
FROM ACROSS BISHOP MONKTON TO ACROSS THE WORLD A very special thank you to all those in Bishop Monkton who contributed to the Christian Aid Week Collection and to those who delivered and collected the envelopes. An amazing total of £434 was raised that will go forward to Burundi. The situation in Burundi is the complete opposite from Bishop Monkton as it one of the most densely populated and poorest countries in Africa. Over 70% of the population live in poverty, and over half of children suffer from chronic malnutrition. The situation has been intensified by climate change and the global cost of living crisis so that anything that we can do in our village to help those in difficulty across the world, even in a small measure, is practising what we so often preach.
