The Community Centre Hall has undergone a major upgrade;

An extension has been added to provide a new stage area and rooms either side for the storage of chairs and tables, no longer do they clutter up the main hall, additional storage is available for regular users of the hall and there is now a changing room behind the stage for performers.

The hall roof has been fully insulated to keep the heat in and prevent drops of water dropping onto the ceiling tiles and spoiling them (new acoustic tiles have been fitted to improve the quality of the sound in the hall and help the sound limiter device to work better). A projector will be added to the ceiling soon (a screen drops down on the stage when required). Aircon has been installed that will help cool the hall when the weather is hot and add to the heating when cold. The acoustic tiles and the projector have been grant funded by the Cliffe and Cliffe Woods Community Trust.

New blinds have been installed on the windows (courtesy of Vivienne and Iain Walton) and a back drop installed on the stage (courtesy of Clifara).

New padded chairs have been purchased to replace the old plastic ones (grant funded by the National Lottery).

The hall has been re-decorated.

Funding was also raised by the sale of land on the Tennyson Avenue (where two semi-detached properties have been built). and some developer contributions from the Esquire Estate on Town Road.

Special thanks to local builders Clark and Son who have carried out the majority of the extension and internal building works and volunteers from the Cliffe Woods Community Association led by Fred Harper and especially by Di Harper, Ian Downes, Alan Parfett, Iain and Vivienne Walton.

Mark and Ina Barlow came to the rescue when the ceiling tiles needed replacing with special acoustic tlles to overcome the echoing problems that we had after the removal of the original ceiling (above the main one)
