Find out more about this community in:

Clive Parish Council has formally started the process of working towards preparing a Neighbourhood Plan for the parish. The first step of the process is to designate what area the neighbourhood plan will apply to, so the parish council has submitted its proposals to Shropshire Council, and there is now a 4-week consultation period from 10th July to 7th August. View details of the proposed area designation on Shropshire Council's website.

Why do we want to have a neighbourhood plan?

Having an approved neighbourhood plan will give the community a much stronger voice in future discussions around development and planning applications in Clive. There are also financial benefits to the community. The proportion of CIL (Community Infrastructure Levy) that is allocated to the parish council is normally 15%, but increases to 25% if we have a neighbourhood plan. This means the parish council would have more funds to finance projects benefitting the whole community. View more information about Parish and Neighbourhood Plans in Clive.

How to comment on the proposed area designation

Representations on whether the civil parish of Clive is an appropriate neighbourhood area may be made by emailing Shropshire Council Planning Policy by no later than 5pm on Friday 7 of August. The parish council encourages all residents to get involved in this first step of the process, and hopefully send comments of support for the proposed area designation.

Neighbourhood plans need community backing if they are to succeed, so if you are interested in joining the Clive Neighbourhood Plan steering group, or being involved in any other way, please contact the parish council clerk.
