Twenty Pairs took part today in the Club's Two Wood Pairs Competition where half the players are nominated as skips and half as leads with a draw then taking place to decide who plays with whom. It was a chilly 10 C as play began at 9.30 am but around lunch time the sun peeped through and by the time the semi finals began players were in short sleeves and the spectators basking in warm sunshine. In the first semi final Vera Rhodes and Bob Goodyear, after dropping a full house of 4 on the first end, came back to beat Sue Dixon and Ted Trantum whilst in the second semi, Jean Bordley and Malcolm Grime beat Kevin Vickers and Duncan Wilkins.

In the Final Jean and Malcolm took a 3 shot lead but Vera and Bob, having recovered the Jack, played shorter ends and eventually ran out the winners of The "Malshanger Bowl"

Thanks go to Kay for all her work in running the event and to all those who helped with refreshments and the bar.
