What a weekend of bowls! We enjoyed tense but exciting finals, with many of our newer players reaching their first finals and sharing just how much they’ve loved the warm welcome at the club this year. Our experienced players also put on a real show of skill, reminding us how lucky we are to have such a diverse and talented group in our club.
Thanks to our amazing volunteers, there were drinks and food throughout each day, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere. The rain on Sunday afternoon couldn’t dampen the spirits as our new winners were crowned in the Ladies Handicap and Men’s Singles Finals.
Our Chairman, James Woolerton, captured the weekend perfectly:
"There were winners, losers, drama, extra ends, moments of joy and disappointment. Well done to everyone involved whether you played and won, played and lost, didn’t play at all, helped out on bar, food, green, organisation; thank you for being involved. Just know that you are valued. Excellent to see so many of our newer members appear in finals and speak so warmly about the club. Well done all from a proud member and chairman.”
A huge thank you to everyone who made this weekend possible. If you’re thinking about joining us next season, there’s no better time — whether you’re brand new to bowls or a seasoned hand, you’ll find a place here."
