This morning at Malshanger, Oakley's "oldies" took on Yateley in the second round of the Tony Allcock Trophy - the National Inter Club Mixed Two Rink competition for those aged over 60. Oakley, showing one change from the previous round, with Graham Tompkins replacing Fred Norris, made an inauspicious start. After just three of the scheduled fifteen ends Graham's rink trailed 1-3 whilst Bob Goodyear's was down 0-5. The next two ends changed the whole match with Graham's rink picking up two successive scores of six and Bob's a four and by 5 ends Oakley led overall by 10 shots. It was by now clear that the Yateley front ends were struggling with long jacks and as a result Oakley continued to rack up scores so that by 10 ends Oakley led by 30-12. Yately conceded the match with an end to play and Oakley leading 46-13. Oakley scores: Mary Varndell, Janie Vickers, Jim Dixon and Bob Goodyear won 20-8, Sue Dixon, Shirley Ball, Spencer Kerley and Graham Tompkins won 26-5
