Communities Against noise and Speed (C.A.N.S.)
We formed following a public meeting at West Meon in November 2017. Our main aim is to promote, lobby and campaign for safer and quieter roads in the Meon Valley, along the A32 & A272 and the surrounding countryside. While this applies to all vehicles, our particular emphasis is on the irresponsible and reckless driving of some of the recreational motor bikers who use these rural highways to speed and intimidate other road users.
In this area over the past 5 years 50% of all accidents with killed or seriously injured casualties involved a motorbike. The average for Hampshire generally in 2016 was 29%.
If you support our aims and objectives you can sign up to our Facebook page at:

or e-mail your details to: canshampshire@gmail.com
Website (under development): www.canshamshire.co.uk
We need as many members as possible to obtain a strong mandate to speak up on your behalf.
How:
Obtain Parish Council Support to lobby Hampshire County Council and the Authorities for lower speed limits of rural A, B and C Roads.
Pressure Police and the Police & Crimes Commissioner to enforce the law, to catch those speeding, driving recklessly on illegal and noisy motorbikes.
To lobby for average speed camera's along the longer stretches of A32 & A272 roads.
Publicise the campaign widely and encourage and galvanise you, the population of villages and rural areas to lobby all levels of local and national government.
