Community CPR/defibrillator training - register your interest
Following our successful training event in September, Clive Parish Council is hoping to arrange another free community training session in CPR and how to use defibrillators. This is likely to be some time in the new year. Contact the clerk asap to register your interest so we can book in some dates with the trainer.
CPR and Defibrillators save lives
When someone goes into cardiac arrest, it is vital that they receive medical attention (defibrillation) as soon as possible. The chance of survival drops by about 10% for every minute that defibrillation is delayed. Thankfully there are now two defibs in Clive (the Parish Council-owned defib at the Village Hall, and the School’s new defib on the wall outside Clive C of E primary school), and they are designed to be used by anyone. To help raise awareness of what defibs do, and how they can be used to save lives, we are hoping to arrange another free training session for residents in CPR and how to use a defibrillator. You can never know when this training might be needed, but the more people who are aware of CPR and defibrillation, the better the chances are of saving a life if the worst should happen.
