Swale Borough Council is undertaking a Community Governance Review, which will look at a number of options for review across the borough.

There are currently 34 parish councils and three town councils in Swale. Some areas, like Sittingbourne, are not currently represented by this most local tier of government.

The stage 1 consultation is now open for the community governance review and can be found here Consultations - Community Governance Review (CGR) Consultation the consultation will close on the 9th February 2026.
