This week saw a number of competitions played by the club.

Last Sunday 7th May, in the National Two Fours, Malmesbury B lost to a strong Chippenham Town team by 35-39. One rink won by 25-18 and the other lost by 10-21. Well done to all who played.

The Tea & Biscuits fixture this week was against North Wilts. The weather prevailed and it did not rain. Malmesbury proved too strong for North Wilts and won by 10-4 on points and 95-48 on shots.

The individual scores were

  • Malc 39-4
  • Pete 23-8
  • Albert 19-20
  • Roger 14-16

On Friday 12th May, a team travelled to play a very strong Chippenham Town team in the National Fours, The opposition proved too strong and our gallant team lost 3-27. It was a good experience for all involved as some had not played in a National competition before.

Also on Friday 12th May, the club played in the Top Club competition against Wroughton and won overall by 4-1. The club will play Supermarine away in the next round. The indvidual scores were:

  • Two Wood 20-5
  • Singles 22-9
  • Pairs 17-12
  • Triples 16-19
  • Fours 15-10

Wroughton returned on Saturday 13th May for an early morning start in the National Two Fours. They had a reinforced team compared to the night before but Malmesbury triumphed and won 38-30. Malmesbury will play Westlecot B at home in the next round. The individual rink scores were 25-11 and 13-19, so 38-30 overall.
