There is still time to respond (deadline Friday 7th Jan 2022)

Clive Parish Council is consulting the community about a proposal to take out a loan to support the final stage of the Village Hall renovations. Each household in Clive should have received one paper survey (including FAQs) before Christmas. We need to know whether the community supports the proposal or not, so we need as many responses as possible. Please complete and drop your response in the locked letter box outside the Village Hall before Friday 7th Jan 2022.

What are the proposals?

The Village Hall Management Committee asked Clive Parish Council to make a Third Party Contribution (TPC) of £7500 to faciltate a larger grant application with Veolia, to fund the final stage of the Village Hall renovations. The Parish Council could not commit to this in the given timeframe, but an alternative is for the Parish Council to apply for a government loan of £7500 over 10 years. This would mean increasing the precept to cover additional loan repayments.

Review the FAQs and details of the loan proposal.

Why we need your responses

The survey asks whether residents were in favour of the Parish Council supporting the Village Hall renovations, and whether they were in favour of a loan and the resulting precept increase.

To apply for a loan the Parish Council must evidence majority support for the loan and resulting precept increase, so we need as many households to respond as possible. Please read the FAQs on the consultation form, complete the form (one response per household), and drop it in the locked letter box outside the Village Hall by Friday 7th Jan 2022.

If you've lost your form, or want to review the FAQs you can download a new consultation form here. If you have questions that are not covered by the FAQs, please speak with a Councillor, or you can also phone (01691 674742 - office hours only please) or email the clerk.

Thank you very much in advance, and also to everyone who has already submitted their consultation form.
