Coronavirus (COVID-19): what you need to do

The Council have received messages from concerned residents regarding the following of Government advice to help to prevent the spread of the virus. Many people are complying with the orders from central government but groups of people have been seen together on the playing fields and around the village. It is especially hard for children and young people who want to meet with their friends, and while for the young this virus may not necessarily be a problem taking the virus home to their families or elderly relatives definitely could be.

This situation is hard for everyone and being told to keep away from each other goes against everything that we are used to, but this is not a game. This is a real thing that is effecting our country at the moment, so please do what you can to follow the advice.

Stay at home

Only go outside for food, health reasons or work (but only if you cannot work from home)

If you go out, stay 2 metres (6ft) away from other people at all times

Wash your hands as soon as you get home

Do not meet others, even friends or family.

You can spread the virus even if you don’t have symptoms

Read more about staying at home and away from others at www.gov.uk

Thank you for your efforts and thank you to all those volunteering to help the vulnerable in our society
