ESSENDINE CORONAVIRUS SUPPORT NETWORK

Dear Resident,

A support network is being set up in Essendine to help everybody in the village that may affected by this pandemic.

Currently, volunteers are being recruited to be ‘Points of Contact’ in all areas/ roads in the village.

We all need to support each other during the difficult days and months ahead. We need to take a little time to check on neighbours, particularly those who are elderly, disabled, living alone or those who are self isolating.

Your local ‘Point of Contact’ will be delivering cards through your door in the next few days, with their contact details and information of how they may be able to help you. Please put this in a prominent place.

I am coordinating the network and can be contacted in a number of ways. By email, adelestainsby@yahoo.co.uk by phone, 01780 752711; mobile 07939 132093; or by a safe distance at the Post Office/my home, 6, Glen Crescent, Essendine. Additionally, the Village Hall website will also be used to share information: essendinevillagehall.co.uk (The hall has been closed until further notice).

If you need help in any way, perhaps to get basic essentials, collect prescriptions from pharmacies, access cash, post letters, help with simple chores such as dog walking or your bins being put out, we need to know!

‘Points of Contacts’ are still needed for the following areas/ roads in Essendine: The Flats, Station Road, Bourne Road (the church side) and Mallard Close. Please do volunteer to help.

For those who do not have internet or are not comfortable using it as a main method of communication, the noticeboard on the bus shelter outside the village hall, will be a Coronavirus Information Board, giving helpful advice and information to all villagers. Do take time to visit it over the coming days for daily bulletins etc.

This is going to be a difficult time over the next few months and we all need do as much as possible to be good neighbours and help each other. If we all do a little bit to help, the network we are setting up will be a lifeline to so many!

Please do stay safe and take care.

Best wishes,

Adele Stainsby and the growing team of wonderful volunteers!
