MESSAGE FROM WARNFORD PARISH MEETING about the

CORONAVIRUS/COVID19 SITUATION

Everyone will be aware of the current issues caused by Covid19 and the advice given by the Government. You can keep abreast of this advice at:

www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-information-for-the-public

1.This note is to let you know what help there is available for those in Warnford who find themselves having to self-isolate or are otherwise adversely affected. Clearly we all hope that Covid19 itself will not hit Warnford hard but the social distancing, self-isolating and other precautions will affect everyone.

2. As a small village most people will know their neighbours and we hope they will be able to help them in an appropriate way where possible, even if just to the extent of keeping an eye on them to ensure they are safe, not running short of important items and are not feeling lonely. It is best to make contact with neighbours etc., at least in the first instance, by telephone or social media, some may wish to set up a WhatsApp group. No one should take any risks.

3.The local shops are doing what they can.

West Meon shop can deliver shopping, you can contact the shop on 01730 829310 or wmvsoffice@gmail.com . If you email please do give your telephone number so the shop can contact you quickly, should it need to, eg about availability of items.

Meonstoke Village Stores can also do deliveries, they are getting together a team of volunteer drivers to do this. If you would like items delivered, please ask by email on info@meonstokepostofficeandvillagestores.co.uk

4. In addition, we appreciate that residents may need help in a number of areas, including:

-ordering food and other things online

-collecting medication

-dogwalking

-problems due to being in the house without visitors/helpers

for a prolonged period.

If you need any help along these lines please contact the Clerk.

5. In order to provide assistance, we shall need some volunteers. Some

residents have already offered to help. If you are in a position to help

(eg no sign of having the virus, not being vulnerable to it or living with

someone who is) and would like to, please let the Clerk know. It

would be good to have some more drivers/helpers.

6. This note has been emailed to those on the Warnford Parish Meeting

Distribution list and will be delivered by hand around the village too.

Further news etc. will be sent round by email, so if you are not on the

WPM list already, please sign up it by contacting the Clerk.
