COVID rules for the Clubhouse and Green
Players
There will be no change in the arrangements for players apart from the recommendations around car sharing which are now allowed but with clear parameters (see current Government guidance - https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-safer-travel-guidance-for-passengers#private-cars-and-other-vehicles).
We have to maintain a record of all members and visitors who attend for track and trace purposes so please can you complete the sign-in sheet on arrival and/or use the NHS app on your phone to scan the QR code.
Masks are compulsory on entering the clubhouse (unless exempt) until a person sits down.
Although in theory changing rooms could be available our facilities are so cramped that social distancing would be impossible, so changing rooms should not be used. Toilet facilities will continue to be available. Hand sanitising will be provided in several places. The club will not be providing food for players at this time.
On Arrival
The main front entrance is not to be used by players. Please go through the gates to the right of the clubhouse and proceed around the one-way system.
The orange arrows are placed with temporary paint. Try to avoid treading on them to avoid the paint transferring to shoes and clothes. Bags can be placed at the scoreboard end of the green. Proceed around the green to the clubhouse where you can enter through the toilets door.
Apart from Friday socials when entrance and signing in will be via the front door after finishing on the green.
Socially distanced seating will be available inside and table service will be provided.
All exits from the clubhouse will be through the gents changing room door.
All exits from the green to the car park will be through the path at the bar end of the clubhouse.
Toilets
Only one person will be allowed to use the toilets at any one time. Automatic hand sanitizing will be available.
Rules of the game
The maximum number of players will not exceed 30. The number and spacing of rinks will be at the discretion of the Captain of the day.
Whites/Greys (as designated) and club shirts are to be worn where possible. Please arrive already changed.
The one-way route around the green will be sustained at all times for players (see signage).
All players shall maintain a sensible social distance. Handshakes are still not condoned.
- Leads to carry their own jack and have their own mat at each end of the rink
- Team A – white mats and white jacks
- Team B – red mats and yellow jacks
- Only Number 2s are to use the pusher (at alternating ends).
- Only one skip moves the scoreboard. The other skip keeps a scorecard.
- Measuring is now allowed but there will be no sharing of a measure.
- Move other players' woods with feet or gloved hands only.
- Skips will require at least 1 glove for removing mats and placing incorrect jacks.
Non-players using the clubhouse
Enter the clubhouse through the main front door.
All members must wear a mask on entry to the clubhouse and until seated. We have to keep a record of all members who attend so please can you complete the sign-in sheet on arrival and/or use the NHS app on your phone to scan the QR code.
Proceed to a suitable table with chairs. Some tables will be set for the ‘rule of six’ or two households. The maximum number allowed in the clubhouse at any one time will be 30 people. Exercise caution and common sense when moving around the clubhouse. Table service will be provided for drinks. Please make use of the card facility for cashless payment wherever possible.
Only one person will be allowed to use the toilets at any one time. Automatic hand sanitizing will be available.
Exit the clubhouse through the gents changing room, not the front door.
Exercise caution when proceeding to the car park as this may be against the flow of bowlers entering the green area through the double gates.
