In Saturday evening's Cusheon games and with both teams showing changes from the previous game (27 players have now represented Oakley in these games) Oakley "A" had a comfortable win over Howard Park "B" . They led by 14-4 after only 5 ends, by 25-12 after 10 ends and a 27 shot lead at 15 ends was retained to the end with Oakley winning 53-26. It was different for the "B" team. They led Howard Park's "A" team by 14-6 after 5 ends but by 10 ends the lead was only 23-21 and by 15 ends the scores were tied. That was, however, to be the end of the Howard Park revival with Oakley finally managing to snatch a narrow 42-39 victory. These results mean that in the League table the "A" team are second, level on points with the Town "A" but with a game in hand. The "B" team have moved into 3rd place, overtaking Town "B" but Town too have a game in hand.

Oakley Scores

"B" team. Martin Budd, Terry Varndell, Val Ryan and Bob Goodyear lost 20-22, Jo holland, John Ryan, Paul Cresswell and Eric Lamkin won 22-17
