Oakley Bowling Club's first overseas tour ended in the early hours
of Thursday morning as the main party arrived back in the village after the flight from Larnaca. Seven days were spent at the splendid Athena Beach Hotel in Paphos with two matches there against another touring team from Bath as well as games at the Coral Bay and Aphrodite Clubs. We also managed trips to the Troodos mountains and to Kolossi Castle and Limassol. The weather was excellent throughout although a morning storm on Monday did cause our game vs Aphrodite to be reduced to 9 ends. With excellent accommodation, great food and good wine the tour was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone, and our thanks go to Personal Touch, the tour operator and to rep Alan who looked after us so well
