News and Dates from the Bilton Bowling Club Diary 1.6.22

Open Week 2022
A big thank you to everyone who supported the Club’s open week and loaned their bowls, tutored on the green, baked cake and welcomed lots of new visitors to the club.

New Members
A warm welcome to new members this month and we look forward to seeing you at the Club. Please introduce yourself when you arrive, and someone will show you the ropes and answer questions. If you haven’t received your membership card yet, please look for your envelope on the clubhouse noticeboard. The green is open every day from 11am until dusk. Friday evening is Club night so drop by on a Friday 6-8 and join in an informal roll up and meet other members in the clubhouse.

Queens Jubilee Gala Day Friday 3rd June
If you’ve signed up for this, you will have had an email with timings for the afternoon.

Ladies Sunday Trophy Match at Home 2.30 Sunday 5th June
Bilton ladies team have a bye for this match, but watch teams from Thornfield, The Grange, Rugby Rail and Oakfield play the next round this afternoon.

Special Green Working Party Monday 6th June
Ongoing care of the green takes place each week, all year-round. Weather permitting, the regular working party would welcome your support this morning with tasks, including cutting and scarifying the green to help aerate and remove moss. Arrive from 8.00

Monday 20th June 6.00 Ladies Roll up
An informal opportunity for bowling practise and support from more experienced players at the Club. All ladies welcome. It’s helpful if you can sign up in advance on the sheet in the clubhouse.

  • News from the Men’s Team
    Excellent news to report as the Men’s team qualify for the semi-finals of the Coventry 6 League which will be played on Sunday 26th June. Also finishing runners up in this year’s Finch Cup against other teams across Rugby Bowling Association. Congratulations to Warren.
