Defib back on site
Our DEFIB is back on site. It's been checked and it's unused (when they're used we have to replace some of the parts).
When anyone local calls 999, the operator has a map of where defibs are located near the emergency.
Round here, we have two on site, Langdon Nature Discovery Centre has one and Tesco has two.
Ours are the only ones available 24/7.
Sometimes the 999 call staff will send the caller to fetch the nearest one if the ambulance won't get there quickly. But often it's not needed because the ambulance gets there first.
It's great to know that residents on this site fundraised for the defib and it's helping the wider community too.
