In the unlikely event of coming across an individual who is unconscious, having difficulty breathing or unable to breath you should of course call 999 for an ambulance. However, it is important to know that there are a number of potentially life-saving defibrillators located around the town, which could help to save a life during the wait for an ambulance. Amongst many other organisations, St Johns Ambulance offer guidance on how to use a defibrillator in an emergency situation.

In Battle there are four defibrillators for public use in an emergency, the locations are:

Battle Memorial Hall, High Street
Netherfield Post Office, Darvel Down, Netherfield
Marley Lane Stores, Coronation Gardens
Outside 77 Hastings Road

The local ambulance service is aware of these units and, in case of an emergency call, can make the caller aware of the location. For more information please see the defibrillator page of the Battle Town Council website.
