Delayed repair works to the Weaver Bridge

I regret to say that Cheshire East Council have delayed repair works to the Weaver Bridge for the third time.
Works are, ‘now anticipated to take place between 13th and 17th July, as per details below.
Justification for these continuing delays are:
- Lack of Capacity
- Conflicting Road Closures
- Delay with the procurement of the stone for the bridge repair
I am acutely aware of the suffering this and the statutory weight limit on ‘Baddington Bridge’ is having on our village, which I continue to raise with Cheshire East as I seek rectification.

NOTICE OF TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE
S14 (2) ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Cheshire East Borough Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers issues this notice temporarily to prohibit traffic in the following length of road:-
Whitchurch Road, Audlem over Audlem Bridge.
The alternative route will be via the following streets: - Whitchurch Road, Goldsmith Lane, Shropshire Lane, Nantwich Road, A525 Waymills Roundabout, A525 From Tilstock Roundabout To B5398 Waymills Junction, A525 Ash Road Roundabout, A525 Prees Road Roundabout, Prees Road, Heath Road, A41 Heath Road Roundabout, A41 Prees Heath Roundabout, A41 From Prees Higher Twemlows Junction To Prees Heath Roundabout, London Road, A41 From Upper College Junction To London Road Start, A41 From Bletchley Dual Carriageway End To Upper College Junction, A41 From Bletchley Dual Carriageway Southbound To End Of Dual Carriageway, A41 From Tern Hill Roundabout To Start Of Bletchley Dual Carriageway, A53 From Ternhill Roundabout To Adderley Road Roundabout, A53 Mullers Roundabout, A53 Roundabout East Of Rush Lane, A53 Adderley Road Roundabout, Adderley Road, A529 From Adderley Lodge To Start Of Adderley Road Market Drayton, A529 From Adderley To Cheshire County Boundary, Green Lane

No cyclists or pedestrian access through the closure, however pedestrian access to any premises situated within the temporary closure will be maintained at all times. Vehicular access will be maintained for emergency vehicles and residents where possible.
The closure is necessary for Cheshire East Highways to carry out bridge repair due to road traffic collision.
It is anticipated that the works will take place on the following date(s): Monday 13th July 2026 to Friday 17th July 2026.
This notice will become operative on Monday 13th July 2026 for a period of 5 days or for such less time as is necessary to enable the works to be completed.
