First of all, I would like to wish you all a belated Happy Easter. Certainly, a memorable one. I would also like to commend and thank the amazing efforts of the "Swaffham Easter Bunnies" who went above and beyond by organising and delivering hundreds of Easter eggs around town on Easter Sunday.

The "Swaffham Easter Bunnies" are (in no particular order); Kay Wells from the Market Cross, Kurt and Laura from the White Hart, Councillor Brendan Holmes, Dennis Tallon and the Swaffham Lions, PC Jo Higgins, Norfolk Police Armed Response Crew, Karen Oliver (Catering Manager) from the White Hart, and the Swaffham Emergency Action Group.

This was all made possible because of the generous donations from the local community, you know who you are, and from Kinnerton Chocolate. Thank you.

During these uncertain and trying times one thing has become abundantly clear, that we have an incredible community here in Swaffham. Despite the continued hardship and unclear future, the strength of the community spirit continues to grow stronger and hardier. Every day there are stories, large and small, that demonstrate this spirit. This bodes well for the post-lockdown future of Swaffham. As someone who was brought up in Swaffham, I have always been passionate about the town. I feel real pride in our town, and it is an honour to be a town councillor and Deputy Mayor of Swaffham.

In Council news, we are now able to hold meetings via video conferencing and so a revised meeting schedule is being worked on. All meetings will be open to the public to view remotely as well. All of our decisions so far will be posted here on our website and we will formally ratify them at our first "virtual" meeting.

Please continue to take all necessary precautions and follow the Government guidelines.
