DESIGNER HOMES FOR HAPPY HEDGEHOGS
Homes fit for hedgehogs are now ready and waiting for host families in Bishop Monkton.
Villager, Helen Bagnall, was pleased to take delivery of 10 hedgehog boxes on Sunday from Pete and Jacqui Morrell of Happy Hedgehog and Small Animal Rescue and these are now available for distribution within the village.
The boxes were generously sponsored by Harmony Energy who are applying to build the Solar Farm between Bishop Monkton and Burton Leonard (up Mains Lane). The offer was made when Hannah Chapman, the company's Development Manager, attended a Parish Council meeting at which Helen successfully applied for funds for hedgehog boxes. Hannah is a huge wildlife fan and offered to pay for some more boxes, which Pete has been making this summer and which are now finally ready to welcome their new occupants.
If you would like to host one and you think you have a suitable site, in a quiet and sheltered spot away from roads and paths, please email Helen for more information: helenbagnall4@gmail.com.
A talk all about these endearing little creatures will be given by Jacqui and Pete in the Methodist Schoolroom on Wednesday October 23 at 7 p.m.
