Oakley players went into this weekend's District Finals with high hopes of lifting titles in the Pairs, Triples and Two Wood Triples. It was not to be. On Saturday morning, Terry Heath, Ric Newson and Ted Brown went down to Basingstoke Town and then in the afternoon the same team suffered a similar fate in the Two Wood Triples. Sunday was thought to be our best hope with Terry and Ted, as holders, racing into a good early lead but unfortunately, from an Oakley perspective, the Town went up a gear and claimed a hat trick of wins.
