It was not Oakley's weekend at the Bowls Hampshire Junior Pairs Finals at Banister Park. In the women's event, which Oakley players have won since its introduction as a County event in 2017, the reigning champions Heather Statham and Alice Lovett lost 18-13 to Molly Firth and Kiera Patel of Milton Park Ladies, unable on the day to counter Kiera's positive skipping. Ashley Nethercliffe and Reece Graham of Alton Social, the 2021 men's champions, also missed out on a trip to the National Finals losing a high quality game on the last bowl of an extra end 16-17. Disappointed as they were all three Oakley players were back at the Club on Sunday evening helping their team to progress in The County Mixed Top Club.
