Don Radford Tournament Success for Long Ashton
August 2nd 2026
In glorious sunshine, Chew Stoke hosted the annual Don Radford Tournament, a triangular competition contested between Chew Stoke, West Backwell and Long Ashton Bowling Clubs.
The morning session produced some closely fought matches, with Long Ashton and West Backwell level on three wins apiece, setting up an exciting afternoon of bowls.
Long Ashton continued their impressive form after lunch, securing another three rink wins to finish as tournament winners.
The final standings saw Long Ashton lift the trophy with 12 points, ahead of West Backwell on 8 points, while our hosts Chew Stoke finished on 4 points.
A big thank you to all our opponents for an enjoyable day’s competition, and especially to our friends at Chew Stoke for their excellent hospitality and organisation.
Well done to everyone involved and congratulations to the team on a fantastic result!
