Tuesday 25th May saw a trial for the planned "DSMBA Tuesday Evening COVID Roll Ups".

The gradual easing of restrictions has seen a few Dorset short mat clubs re-open, but many are unable to do so. The Tuesday evening sessions at the Dorset Bowls Resort near Bere Regis are open to anyone registered with DSMBA as an opportunity to play.

Strict distancing guidlines are in place, and attendance must be pre-booked to comply with the regulations.

Anyone used to the hustle and bustle of dozens of players and spectators at events held here would have been surprised to see the hall used by just six pairs of players on three well-spaced mats for the opening session. The second session, held after a break to allow the first set of players to leave and all equipment to be sanitised, was for six mats but in the well ventilated bowls arena this still gives plenty of space to adhere to the distancing rules.

The next event is on Tuesday 8th June. Anyone interested in attending can contact either Mark White at dsmbateammanager@virginmedia.com or Brian Baker at brian.baker15@btinternet.com for further details.
