On behalf of the Committee I would like to wish everyone at the Club a very Happy Easter break. If you have rejoined the Club I look forward to seeing you on court. If you are leaving us I wish you well for the future.
The members of the Committee have put in a lot of hard work over the last 3 months and I would like to thank them here for their diligence. So I decided to ask them, in alphabetical order, to let you know what has been going on.
Ailsa, our Club Treasurer tells me the Club’s finances remain healthy, although currently membership income is a little down on last year, but we hope for some new joiners..The imminent resurfacing of courts 1&2 will diminish funds somewhat, however the Club is still reasonably well-placed.
Anne, our Club Ordinary Committee Member has arranged repair of the main gate floodlight brought down in a storm with further work to be done on the Clubhouse door frame and fence post by the picnic table. The front gate lock is now working as well.
The soap dispenser in the outside toilet is being replaced on the sink and ...
Please be mindful of the loose toilet seat in the outside toilet, while we get it replaced !!
So if you find anything is amiss regarding housekeeping please let Anne know,
David, our Club Welfare officer has renewed the club’s safeguarding policy which is available on our website. If anyone has any concerns please contact David Eyre-Brook
We also circulated the link to the British Heart Foundation CPR training and many of you found this very useful so If anyone missed it, it can be found on the BHF website.
Janet, our Club Membership Secretary reports Membership Renewals have been going well but there are still a few of you that haven’t renewed, so please do so as soon as possible.
We will be promoting our Club and supporting various charities within our local community by holding stalls at the following events this year:-
= Pirates in the Park 6th June 2026
= Thank you Day 5th July 2026
so please come along and support us, either by helping on the stall or participating in the fun events on the day.
After a small group of mix in members organised a day trip to the Eastbourne Open last year which proved to be a huge success a coach is now being organised to take a greater number of members to Devonshire Park this Summer on Tuesday 23rd June. There are seats available on the coach now so please let Janet know soon if you are interested in this exciting new and potentially annual outing.
