End Game! The season is over (where did the time go?)

On Wednesday 2nd September we had two teams playing at Hunstanton for the Joe Taylor Shield, suffice to say they held their own even though they played against our old foes “The Angel” from Swanton Morley. Always an enjoyable day where they played 5 games of 6 ends with views overlooking the sea.

The Internal Club competition was completed on our Finals Day held on Sunday 6th September with the honours going to the following:

* Ladies Final – Carol Spencer.

* Men’s Finals - Phil Hayward

* Open Pairs Final - John Wright & Robin Davis

The Roy MacDonald-Jackson Shield which goes to the member who achieved the highest average throughout the season on Sunday, and mid-week rollup/drives and the winner was Phil Hayward with an average of 5.554.

Sunday 13th September, we held our Tidy Up day where the Pavilion had a through clean, the internal hedges had their yearly cut and work on the green was conducted. My thanks go towards the hardworking 12 who turned up (in the rain) who were rewarded with sausages in a roll followed by a selection of cakes all washed down with a welcome cup of tea/coffee.

Our next event is the AGM on Sunday 11th October at 2.00pm where elections for all positions of office are to be voted on.
