Just to clarify the position regarding the government scheme to give every household £400 off their winter energy bills. This is called the Energy Bills Support Scheme. Previously the government said we'd have to pay this back but they have since scrapped that idea and announced it's a free grant.

Currently, park home owners aren't included in this scheme because we don't have a contract with an energy company ourselves. However, the government is very aware that lots of people slip through the net and they have promised to fix it.

A few months ago they put out a consultation to see how people like us can be included. To reiterate, it's not that they don't want us to have this grant, it's just about working out the technicalities.

The consultation has now ended. I have a copy of the full consulation document and the recommendations for park home owners is that the government legislates to force park home sites to pass this money on to all of us. The report also recommends that Ofgem gives park home owners a special phone number to report site owners who don't.

The government will now look at the report and decide what to do. It's only a recommendation and they might decide to do it another way. But rest assured the government have said they will sort it out by the launch in October.

The scheme doesn't start yet so I'm confident it'll all be set up by then and we'll get our money at the same time as everyone else at the start of winter 2022..
