This morning at Bridgend Municipal Bowling Club in South Wales, Nicole made her England debut and it was a proud moment for her parents and the Club as she paraded onto the green with the England team. Playing at No 2 in a rink skipped by Commonwealth Games medallist Jamie Lee Winch, a game against Scotland was always going to be difficult. Scotland led for much of the match but with just 12 ends left England led by 8 only for that lead to disappear very quickly. Nicole's rink was in trouble most of the game but, like the rest of the team, they held their nerve scoring on the last 2 ends as England moved out to an 18 shot victory. For the afternoon game the selectors decided to make changes and Nicole and her No 3 were replaced. This will have been disappointing for Nicole but, in only her second season outdoors, she has done brilliantly well to become a Junior International. Time is on her side.

The Wales match too was very tight with the scores tied with 2 ends to play but sadly England went down to a 3 shot defeat which leaves Wales as favourites to take the British Isles title away from holders England.
